We are an open stud inviting mare owners for a coffee and to watch the progress of the mare's stay at stud. We believe that many owners are nervous about sending a mare to stud so they are welcome at all times at Pferde Stud, meeting the vets and watching the whole process of creating a foal.

Pferde Stud welcomes people wishing to learn and gain experience in the breeding of horses. We offer summer places at our stud, short or long term, with the opportunity of seeing many different types of service from sport horses to the largest rare breed stallions, all working in hand under controlled conditions.

As a stud, we believe in working with our clients and therefore we can offer many ways of covering mares.

Foal

Natural Service

This is still the most successful way of breeding horses and all our stallions offer this service. Each stallion is well handled by only Darren who works very easily with nervous and maiden mares in a controlled, enclosed, safe environment for both mares and mares with foals at foot.

Chilled Semen Collections

We offer chilled semen as we understand some mares are not able to be served naturally for logistical reasons or health problems.

Frozen semen from Allbany is available to a limited number of mares processed for England, Ireland and Europe with superb thawing counts.

Walk-in Service

As the racing world works, we can offer this service for show and competition mares or many owners would prefer the mares home after ovulation maximum stay at stud 3-5 days.

14-Day Scan

This way mares are returned home after the first pregnancy scan. If further scans are required, this can be done at your home by your own vet.

Full Breeding Service and Veterinary Package

The most successful way of getting your mare in foal under a controlled vet fee cost for up to 3 cycles during the breeding season – this is a highly recommended way for maiden mares, problem mares, the older mare and the first time breeder.
